Nestled in the NE neighborhood of Portland, OR, this hole in the wall, gem of a shop, is serving up some of their own classic subs, to quick bento boxes.
This place is a go-to for lunch!

I had the pleasure of trying Taste Tickler last Friday for lunch. I ordered the 10″ Teriyaki Chicken sub with Lays potato chips on the side (A MUST, don’t argue with me).
I think people are sleeping on teriyaki sandwiches. I don’t know what it is about it, but there’s just something about the combination of teriyaki chicken, bread, and mayo. I feel like the sweet and savory flavors of teriyaki blend SO well with mayo. It’s basically like okonomiyaki flavors, but in a sandwich form.
Teriyaki sandwiches are nostalgic to me. My mom used to own a sandwich shop back in the day in downtown SJ (CA). My first time having a teriyaki chicken sandwich was at my moms sandwich deli. I thought it was the best sandwich I ever had. I’m so glad I can satisfy my nostalgic cravings at Taste Tickler.
